File Extension .Ptx

Files with a PTX file extension are mostly linked to the PaintShop Pro Graphic Editing software. This software uses PTX files to store texture preset information that is used to apply to the shapes and objects that a user is working on within the PaintShop Pro Graphic Editing application.

Another application that uses the PTX file extension for its files is PageMaker wherein its template files are usually in the PTX format and file extension.

The PTX file extension is also associated with the CUDA application developed by the NVIDIA Corporation. CUDA stands for Compute Unified Device Architecture and it is a parallel computing architecture generated by NVIDIA as a computer engine which is accessible to application developers in the industry.

PTX files are also associated with the E-Transcript Manager – an application used to create certified electronic transcripts of data recorded from a courtroom hearing. PTX files of this type are usually used by court reporting firms in creating legal transcripts for lawyers. Though E-Transcripts may also be saved as an EXE file, most users favour saving it in a PTX format as it is easier to send it online using the latter compared to the former because of email filters stopping the delivery of EXE files.
