File Extension .Zip

Files with a ZIP file extension are commonly and primarily linked with compressed archived files and therefore a ZIP files is an archive file or a compressed file created by various ZIP utilities. ZIP files could contain a single file or multiple files stored in various directories or folders. Usually for ZIP files, contents of which can be properly extracted using the same ZIP utility that compressed the file or files. Normally though, ZIP files can be decompressed using any archiving utility that supports the ZIP file format.
